Thanks Jackie. When things happen, and God allows one to survive a little longer, one appreciates the time he has as well as realizes how important friends are. We are like snowflakes. Each is unique and yet all are here for such a short time. And when one is gone, one has lived about as long as a s...

To me the wearing of Gi's and some of the small formalities I'm with you 99%, 2green; I consider those things to be absolutely necessary in most places. Whenever my students and/or myself visit/attend exernal karate outings and events, we always wear gis and belts appropriately; exactly for the rea...

Getting Belted
When we compete in tournaments and visit others' dojo, we wear our Uechi colors for necessity and to show respect. If belt colors and ranks mean anything else to them, they hold it in their hearts, not overtly. In my three dojo through the years my students come to class in sweats, shorts, or whatev...

I ... - Count in a rhythmical fashion when I use my voice. - Draw a vocal accent on a beat when appropriate to do so. - On a Theme class I use one of two metronomes to do my counting for me. - One, a simple electronic device that varies the tempo and loudness, - The other can be adjusted to accent c...

The Hut is a unique place, George. The comraderie there is second to none. 1) Should you allow other students whom aren't black belts to correct and or teach other kyu ranks- ? 2) Should the balck belt student/instructor correct when not leading class? When, how, and if appropriate, and with proper ...

Hi Fred, Kerry. Art's dojo was in the Falmouth area when it was active, Ben. As of last fall, I knew there was no Uechi dojo on the Cape. When I had my dojo in Foxboro, one of my students lived on the Cape and couldn't find a dojo near him, therefore he started with me. Windsong's dojo is inactive, ...

Everyone listens when a senator from Massachusetts speaks, right? At least he didn't call the elections fake like Gorbi did: “very far from what true elections are. And even though I am a supporter of elections and of the transfer of power to the people of Iraq, these elections were fake.” http://ww...

ATTENTION: Upgrading Pitfalls and Partial Fixes
Dear Technical Support: Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 and noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. No mention of this phenomenon was included in the product brochure. In addition, Wife 1.0 installs itsel...

Grandmasters Not In Short Supply
WTF TKD commands quite a league of senior-level Grandmasters. They are not so rare there. In that system, the title is awarded by the Kukiwon. ITF TKD and some TSD segments have something similar. However, I did know a young renegade 4th or 5th dan Korean who started his own dojang and called himsel...
