Joe Lauzon on Spike TV

Not certain if you know, but Joe Lauzon from these forums is on Spike TV this season on The Ultimate Fighter. It's televised every Thursday night at 10 p.m. eastern on Spike TV (http://www.spiketv.com/). Kind of interesting because the captain of his competing team, Jens Pulver, is the guy that Joe ...

Joe L. - no slight intended. Just stating the rules. I think that you guys push the limit and should be admired for doing so. That's why I included this: "There are a bunch of rules. However, it really is the best place to see what works and what doesn't." But to answer your other question...

No shokens - wouldn't be as effective in the gloves anyway. No bushikens (spelling?) to the throat. No knees to the head, back, etc. Can use knees when standing up (to legs, stomach) and on the ground (to sides). No elbow strikes. Add full knee strikes and full elbow strikes and it's Muay Thai - thr...

Nice triangle choke!

I'm more impressed, however, in how quickly Greg has progressed! With the exception of the "fix the 'do" time-out, he has turned in to a very good grappler. Guess that's what happens when you work out consistently and with great teammates!!!

26 July Team End Game fights?

Joe and Joe L. - is the fight on the 26th w/Teamendgame still on? If so, is there a website to see the fight card and where can we get tickets?

New Forum

2Green and UglyElk (Laird) - it got so bad at my house that two years ago I suggested to GEM that he start a new forum for "Uechi Widows!"

IUKF Passport Question

GEM Sensei - if I bring my IUKF passport to summer camp, will the session presenters sign it after each session? If so, this is a HUGE opportunity to build up credentials - possibly 12 hours or more of documented extra training. Please advise......

I can guess the answer too: H*LL YES! We each bring in different body types, different fighting styles and different levels of conditioning (ok, mine *****...). The point is to find something that works consistently for you and MAKE IT YOURS! Watch Joe's fighters. Do they fight just like Joe? No. Wa...

Thanks!

Hi Allen - thank you for the kind words. It was a pleasure to help Chris test. He was well prepared and did a wonderful job. I, on the other hand, was worried about getting by black belt revoked!

CONGRAT'S!

Way to go Bill!!! No sense in carrying a putter anymore. The Cape did receive just over two feet of snow last weekend. Most of it melted this week - causing massive flooding. Duct tape sales are down, water pump sales are up at the local hardware stores. And it's the first time that I've ever seen C...

I like a good offense

My whole mindset is attack, attack, attack. It's the script/theme running through my head when I'm in a tournament, sparring for testing purposes, grappling, etc. However, it does provide openings for skilled opponents. I got clocked at the last black belt test over an over-extended left jab (I was ...
