Good if rather sad read.
Having a safer city isn't a bad thing of course.
Maybe the arts go thu cycles. At one time MA were really popular, then they were not, then they were, currently it seems they are in a bit of a slump if internet activity is any reflection.

Bill "As I understand it, that is not how Kanbun taught. But in turning Kanbun's art into a marketabe product, many teachers of very large clases decaffeinated karate." I've really liked the whole discussion---but this line really hit home. As I understand it, martial arts--back in the day...

Re: NJ law may be activated by new gun technology
So now, if this takes place, instead of just stealing somebodies gun you now need to hit them with a brick and steal their watch as well.
Not sure that people are thinking this through fully.

Re: Syria
Jorvik "bush lied to you etc." Maybe......but then as I have been demonstrating for several days now.......you are so focused on your narrative that you fail to consider any facts or POV other than said narrative. You seem to idolize a guy like Galloway with no recognition of his own highl...

Re: Syria
Jorvik What proof would satisfy you? You have already made up your mind. I listened to the speech--and what I heard was a bombastic, self serving, anti-Semitic blowhard whom on multiple occasions made statements in defense of Saddam and was friendly with at least one of his loathsome sons. His deman...

Re: Syria
Jorvik Because you made the claim--and the burden of proof is on the person making the claim. In point of fact--multiple sources--and not just USA sources have determined that Sarin was used in Syria. -Agent Orange--maybe, but certainly not by the standards of the time. Wasn't designed as a "pe...

Re: Syria
I'd have to agree--no "good guys" anywhere. We supported Stalin against Hitler--and Hitler and Stalin were allies prior. The plan was to carve up Europe between them. Until of course Hitler decided he didn't want to share. Ironically Stalin helped Hitler re-arm in direct violation of the t...

Re: Syria
jorvik "that stuff came later" That is precisely my point, it didn't. It came prior . You only remember what you want to remember.....the way you want to remember it. That is exactly why I took the time to post the specific information. All you have to do is look it up. I don't recall that...

Assads a bad guy....but as Bill and Val etc. point out....the alternatives might well be worse.
Facing a choice between "bad" and "worse"with no clear path.
I do not envy the folks having to make said choices.

Re: Syria
jorvik Something else you might want to consider--along the "lies and distorations" thing. ;) There was a long list of reasons why we invaded, WMD's were just a part of it. Everyone likes to focus on the WMD's but the reality was that there were many reasons to invade. 1st-We had a cease-f...

Another tragic mass shooting at a "gun free zone." It's the ultimate problem with liberalism--as their actions are ideology -based instead of fact -based. The results of their poor decisions are seldom considered. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: Psychopath test
Now I'm wondering if a psychopath would think things through--would a jury "buy" the resoning of throwing the fat guy under the train? Would a pschopath even care enough to act?
Ok, nit-picking here. Thanks for the post/vid...very interesting.

Val "post chock full of ad hominum attacks" But that is problem Val--the folks on the Left ALWAYS come up with reasons NOT to have discussions. All the more so when their worldview is being questioned. Since you brought up ad hominum attacks---in context with "poor memories" I mi...
