I must say I do believe that Shushiwa was incredibly strong but In all honesty I have a hard time accepting that he could hold the weight of two adults on the fingertips of his outstretched arms. I feel that this may have been a case of a story being handed down for so long that it became somewhat e...

I love conditioning Dana and it's one of my favorite things to do truly. I like all the traditional elements of Uechi conditioning. The rubbing and pounding and Kotekitae and all of it. I love to do the jars and the chiishi and so many other things to go along with that. I personally love kettlebell...

I feel it all goes to show how much time and effort the founders put into the style of Uechi. Even Musubi dachi is brilliant cause with the feet positioned in this manner we are ready to go in any direction without being off balanced like we would be unbalanced standing with our feet together and fa...

Hi all

will allow their center of gravity to rise. sanchin teaches you to lower your center not raise it, and this should be done with out thinking about it but should happen naturally I like what Hoshin said above: In my view with all due respect I see this as kind of a non issue. I feel you'd move from s...

Just in my view I think all of the organizational politics will die out in the future. Everyone should be proud of their affiliation and the group that they study with. Sometimes I feel the hard feelings are made out to be much stronger than they truly are for whatever reason. I really don't think t...

Hi Bill

Thanks and very interesting as always. I agree with you 150% and as I said my teacher also uses that philosophy of perfect practice making perfect and I always loved that since I heard it years ago now and think of it every time I go to do a kata or work on anything in our art. I always say silently...

Time

I was reading some of the old and new thoughts and the three years of sanchin only talks from all the respected people who shared what they do and how they see things. I want to say that I respect them all and what they do and how they do it. My humble thoughts here are not to take away from anyone ...

I love Seichin kata also and I asked to be grabbed in the double shokens when I first started learning this kata just to see how it would feel and when the person latched onto my sides and dug the knuckles in I yelped and saw that he could move me anywhere he pleased lol..I asked for this though bec...

Bill

Our Goju-ryu guest did some other kata's for us also and he was a pretty cool guy. He demonstrated Tensho and I hope I'm spelling that correctly and it was a pretty cool kata to take in. I enjoyed watching and listening to him explain how he saw things. He spent a good many years in Japan studying a...

Hey Guys

All I can say is tonight was a buttkicker at class man wow..We usually work hard as always and at times when I can I go in early. My sensei and myself were there tonight before class doing kettlebell exercises like snatches and presses with no break in between the sets and I swear to God I was so tax...

One other note

Not really related so much to the breathing but we just had a godan as a guest who trained in Goju-ryu for many years and it was very interesting to watch him demonstrate and discuss our sister art on Okinawa. Goju is of course as you know half hard and soft also but it looks much harder as they per...

Hey Guys

As Fred has said earlier in the thread I also noticed and it's knowledge of course to us all that even as he said on the Okikukai dvd that some use different methods of breathing. It seems Takamiyagi Sensei breathes out on the strike and others on the dvd do also but it seemed that most used the tss...

Just a thought

Not to argue the point of breathing because all have their way that they believe in and that's more than fine and I respect the things said above but I feel the tsst method while performing sanchin and making it audible consciously trains the body to breath properly in the abdomen in the diaphragmat...

I agree with you Adam about more troops to help secure Iraq and support existing ground forces already on the ground. John McCain I believe is for increasing troop numbers too and I'm all for this type of strategy as it stands now. Leaving and pulling out now would be a terrible mistake.

The reference to Eva Braun as a possible co-host was simply to put her in the same type of grouping with Walters and O'Donnel as people who support ridiculous idea's no matter what the detailed philosophy is on Nazi's or Communist's. They both are ignorant idea's of how to go about things. So really...
