This is what I learned in Geology 101

We know the climate in different regions due to geological research. I can't remember the exact things they look at and my book and notes are in storage. Due to this research we know that the world climate goes up and down in cycles. We don't have a long enough baseline of reliable and specific temp...

I remember well about 15 years ago, talking to my mother on the phone, telling her i didnt like the word feminism, but preferred "humanism".....she began yelling into the phone.....cuz she is and was a matriarch railing and wailing against patriarchy........if patriarchy is bad, then so i...

Divorced/separated men commit suicide 400% more than women Women attempt more, men are more successful (if you can call that success). If the attempt rate was present, we might have something to work with. Women are more likely to initiate divorce, men are more likely to be surprised and become dep...

The movie you're referring to is Banlieue 13, or B 13. It's being released in the US as District B13 . The stars are David Belle (founder of parkour) and Cyril Raffaeli. This is my video , much more amateur than other videos around the internet. The parkour in it is fairly fledgling, just as a forew...

Jim--I think this is what happened, I think I took two points of discussion and mixed them up a bit.

26. They use testimonials instead of peer-reviewed published work to demonstrate effectiveness. There is no control over variables and the sample size is unknown. They are not scientifically demonstrating that their treatment is responsible for a significant effect on the health of the people who us...

If really interested, here's a whole book about it that's backed by current research: http://product.half.ebay.com/Sexual-Assault-on-the-College-Campus_W0QQtgZinfoQQprZ461557 Schwartz and DeKeseredy include lots of other variables in their model in addition to male peer support. Ignore the part wher...

Sorry if that sounded contentious. I previewed my post to make sure no words were getting through. It just seemed like an aggressive dichotomy was being presented in response to my posts, which were all made in an attempt to understand, not slander. After making it clear I was trying to better under...

Huh?

To me, this is simply a motivating phrase, like Nike's "just do it!" or hundreds of other words that end up on caps, t-shirts or tattoos. Anyone who reads anything else in "All is in Sanchin" needs some serious counseling or is just Uechi "bashing". Which do you think ...

Although some posts in this thread can probably be safely ignored, I agree with Jim (EDIT: referring to the reply before the WCK one). However, there are some replies to valid questions and comments which are pretty hostile, considering the questions and comments were clearly written without malice....

I hear you. Let's try this. I think I know the Uechi kata pretty well (except for sanseiryu). Give me an example of one of the turnovers or throws that you are thinking of. Perhaps I can find an example in Uechi kata. This may be a bit off subject, but here's a thought I've been bouncing around for...

As a nearly life-long listener of NPR and its programs, I shouldn’t be as appalled as I am, except that I have just recently woken up to the fact that one of their main agenda items is specifically the denigration of men and the worship of women without any recognition of women’s faults in any way ...

Like the professional standards department said, she didn't break any rules. She modeled in college under a fake name. Big deal. It's not like she spent a few years as a prostitute. Maybe not the best move for an education major to make, but nonetheless, not really scandal material. She mentioned in...

In academia sources are required to back up claims. who do we blame for male socialization of violence ...
