Book Training

This is a classic example of someone learning a kinetic art from static photos in a book. I can't tell you how many dozens of eager students that have made their way into my dojo after "studying" Uechi from an obscure instructor. Nowadays, it's a second-generation issue--it's not the stude...

Any updates?

Bill:

Has anyone been in contact with Dave yet? Have you finalized any plans?

The flights on Southwest were $68 roundtrip a few days ago, but those fares are gone & now the fares are at $100. We just hope to book a flight sooner rather than later, if possible.

Thanks,

David

Omaha/Lincoln

Dave & Bill:

Please keep the Chicago Boys in the loop on this gathering. Some of us might be able to swing a cheap flight to Omaha & join you (If you'll have us!)

Thanks,

I almost exclusively carry a cheapo utility folder. Like Raffi said, I'd hate to lose an expensive knife. Plus, if I go somewhere where they are doing searches, and I forgot to leave it at home, I don't mind tossing it in the garbage. (Raf taught me that trick.) A few years ago, Menards (a midwest b...

next year's date

Sensei:

Is the camp scheduled early next year (2004)? It will be July 30 - Aug 1 instead of the second weekend in August?

I know it's a long way off, but some need to plan that far in advance.

Thanks,

David

According to the reports I've read, the cardiac arrest was related to, "an infection of the heart, and was not related to the diet."

thanks

Bill, et. al.: You got right to the heart of my concern...If I chose to employ the Super Slow method, would my strength & size increase at the expense of speed? My usual lifting technique is exactly as you recommended. I explode on the positive & return slowly on the negative. I have been ha...

Super Slow Workouts

Bill: Have you (or your wife) had any experience using or researching the "Super Slow" lifting technique (i.e. 1 set of 3-6 reps, with each rep done over 15-20 seconds)? For those not familiar, the idea of the slow movements is to remove momentum from the lift, while working every muscle f...

Summerfest Dates?

Triple Compression?

Bill & Dana: Could you both explain what you mean by "jing"? Is it a term with a precise definition, or is it more of an abstract concept? If the term describes something more abstract, I'd love to hear how both of you describe it in your own way. Thanks, David ------------------ Study...
