I found this picture on the web, it may be an old partial painting of Asato's battle. It looks like a samurai is meeting the working ends of the Eku.

I think there are two places over in your neck of the woods. The first in Orlando and George Mattson is opening or has opened on in Mount Dora or Eustis. Also I replied back to your question about Charles Blackman.

Cindy, Last I heard he has been recovering better than expected. I started out training with Joe and Charles back in '89. Off and on from the Hwy 60 Dojo to the Lithia Dojo. I am currently at the Seffner Dojo of Ken Washington. Joe has moved to San Antonio, FL and his students still teach in Brandon...

The next best thing to the jars with more flexability in there use are the punch/block power trainer. Made out of aluminum and can be adjusted by just adding iron weights with the 1" hole in the center. They can handle up to 150# of weight each. They are a nagiri game/chi'ishi, and they are awe...

Bowling pin for the arms and legs. Also if you check out auto body tools they make a rubber hammer that is tear drop shaped which works pretty well. If you need a makiwara check this out, either to buy or get ideas for making your own.
