Website Mailing Lists

Hi, I run a white crane website www.fujianbaihe.com I am developing a set of web site tools for linking martial artists of all styles together ( calendar, research skills etc ). The first component I have live is the mailing list I use on the above website for people who are interested in Crane. Any...

Buckled elbow

The buckled. This is wrong. We try to keep it open. Difficult to do when in flow. If we concentrate on this ( keeping it open ) then the drill is much harder as the sideways forces come into play. the moves are also a lot shorter. The base push cycle is practiced in our lineage Yong Chun. All the oth...

but there are obstacles in my way.. What obstacles? I am not in formal training right now ? formal...there is only training!! We have something which translates roughly as '10 rules for resistance'. Number 9 is:..well I can't seem to print the characters here, but it means (9. Never be rusty);wu4 s...

Drills

Stryke Can't get that link to work. Please go ahead and play with any of our stuff. The -best- bit is the last one on that clip I think which should work well from Uechi stance. This is pure Yong Chun Crane. The other stuff you have to see if it works for you. Are you using the same base drill? I th...

drills

Agree with both of you of course ( because we only have 2 arms and 2 legs ). Should not forget Pat is kung fu in origin. Jim, I am interested to know what you do for footwork drills. The only thing we do is kick each others legs a fair bit. This is not so strange as it seems. Firstly it is good stan...

kids in bed now.

Might sound a bit cute, but one perspective of hand drills is to find out what they are useful for. You can only do this by playing them. It is a little tempting to analyse drills like 'oh this is good for.....power...attitude etc etc ' but you have to drive the drills in different directions ( good...

Hand drills

Hi Dana, Jim dropped me a line to say you were interested in this stuff. This is fairly large clip ( 30 Meg ). At the moment we are working with about 20 little drills to add to the basic cycle that we do. Again these positions are for practicing our San Zhan and basics. http://www.fujianbaihe.com/f...

Firstly - my issue with forums is they can be so damn interesting that you spend more time in them than training! Secondly sorry this post is a bit multi threaded but I am tying to say hello to so many people at once in this forum. Also If any of you have posts of clips on the web can you email to m...

I do not know. I have not trained so much in these terms. - this seemingly simple thing is something I have discussed with quite a few people over the last 6 months or so as a good person will be able to take you quite high on the arm and catch your centre quite effectively and if they have a good l...

Jim, Thanks for the clarification. I understand what you mean about the bong feeding forwards ( forgive me if I get the names wrong on this ) and not being an upward block. Also as a transitional movement. I had a Wong Shun Leung wing chun man visit here for a few days and they emphasise a lot this ...

Drills

Dear Dana, It is difficult to differentiate between what I have learnt in China, what they have been trying to teach me, what I teach and what we end up doing. Our conditioning is firstly that. We are very forearm concentrated. I suspect we like to use this as a weapon. Most of the drills in Yong Ch...
