How many kata?

Post by Scott Danziger »

As some of you may know, Sensei Marilyn Fierro, 7th dan Isshinryu, has her own cable TV show here on Long Island called Taking Charge which I help her out with a website I created for her show. (See Link in my signature) Next month she will be airing her trip to the Washington DC Okinawan Masters tour she videotaped. She interviewed Tomoyose Sensei. I made a wave file of a portion of the interview. I thought it may be of interest here.

The quality isn't the swiftest because of the size. I made it mono, 8 bit, 11hz. It is 1.4MB but I think worth the dl time (about 4.5 minutes @ 28.8)

Sensei,
Thanks, but you should have heard it at 22hz, stereo, 16bit (What I recorded it off the tape at). Much clearer and 3 times the size.

Thank You Scott,

Great words of wisdom, reflects also what Miaygi Sensei once wrote..."dig a small hole, but dig very deep"!

Scott,

With faster modems and larger hard drives looming on the horizon, it won't be long before high quality speech transmission will be real-time.
