Bill Bauknecht is helping me coordinate Friday evening's match by working with the Maritime Academy and by "recruiting" his son-in-law to field a couple teams to insure we have coaches and officials or. . .

Now we just need Canadians and USA players!!!!

And if you want to play the soccer game, be sure to wear soccer shoes, or you will slide, trip and fall all over the field.

And don't forget shin guards...your 'Uechi conditioning' is
ok...but marginal against a rolling soccer kick that misses the ball and cathes you square in the shin 8)

Be sure you are in shape to stay in the game to run after the ball...or don't even think of stepping on the pitch...you might end up with a cardiac arrest :(

And...don't forget to wear a cup...famous last words

You don't have to, but it might be a good idea if you want the old twig and berries to work right when you get a woman over at your place.

Getting kicked in the sack or smacked there with the ball might not help that situation. :splat: Image

Let's try and make this camp a success, people, if only for the fact it brings so many of us together in merriment...High-spirited fun and enjoyment, in addition to some quality seminars on technique and self protection.

We should know by now that learning is an ongoing life process, and learning takes many manifestations clad in what we usually take for granted.

And, who knows_ someday these camps may become a thing of the past_and there will be bitter tears to shed whether you know it or not.

Tears at having let our 'diminishing' selves get in the way of the celebration of some of the best moments in the short years of our lives that have become the grist of time.

Get to camp, will you, and lets have a drink together. :)

From George's news letter

Postby Van Canna » Mon Jul 06, 2009 2:49 am

I am most pleased to learn that Roy Bedard and Adam Faurot were able to clear their hectic and full schedule and will be teaching a fascinating physical/mental program called the "Protectors" on Friday and Saturday.

I've participated in physical elements of the program and special monitoring that is part of the program and I can honestly say. . .

This is the very finest overall fitness program ever created. You will be blown away by the completeness of the program. . . and most interesting, a program that can be implemented by a dojo.

This, in my estimation, is a program that can help a dojo fulfill the promises of offering "A complete self-defense solution!"

This should be interesting.

The soccer field at Summer camp was beautiful...all marked and ready to go...but no takers...a shame...but then again...soccer is a game that requires a superb conditioned body and mind... :P

Bravo to a Great Roman Rower

Van,

Thank you for sharing the wonderful photo from the past and "I am the 2nd rower from the left...[after the coxswain] the good old days

And this year my club won first place in the same race...1000 meters sprint....Pattison cup. "

When I finish my time machine could I invite you back to 45 B.C. [NOT 'B.C.E' garbage ] ... there is a great trireme that needs super rowers for a Mare Nostrum Regatta? :) :)

[[Italian dialectal, a contention, regatta, from regattare, to contend, perhaps from recatare, to sell again, compete, from Vulgar Latin *recaptāre, to contend : Latin re-, re- + Latin captāre, to seek to catch, frequentative of capere, to seize; ]]

O.K. no more ... oh heck, I fought substituting "Ricotta" in the above as it would have been a CHEESY pun. :)

Great weekend to all my Uechi brethren.
