This was sent to me by my student Fred Channel who is also a long time student of combat judo and Iaido...

His comments:

One of the differences between karate and Iaido (sword) is that in Iaido the sword leads the body into battle.

In Karate it is usually step, body, hand whereas in the sword it is hand, body, foot.

This video starts out just a bit silly but had some interesting points on striking you might find interesting.

Most of it is taken from 16th century sword training books. When they actually fought to the death frequently.
