Utter Dismay about two matters

Post by JOHN THURSTON »

I am totally dismayed at not being able to post to "All About Uechi Kata"

Perhaps 30 years is not sufficient.

This is "Western Martial Arts" but hecik:

The decription of the elements of The Kata Were superb and most enlightening. I am going to print out the thread.

Secondly, I am totaly dismayed at losing my 6000 prior posts and replies.

HEY !@##@%@.!!!!![

If I have to I will post the "powers of T'ai, for example, here and rewrite all the prior posts such as "Furst Phalanx" which pointed to the starting point of the first or second "tactical" formations in history

I share your frustration, especially at the apparent loss of prior posts.

I am glad that I had the unwitting foresight to take some time and print out some threads that I found interesting and worth keeping prior to the changeover.

Perhaps the 'missing' posts are somewhere from whence they can be easily recovered.

but it will take some time for the administrators to move all the posts, to appropriate headings. I think we made a mistake when transferring this forum. I'll try to fix it.

What forum were those 6000 posts? It appears that this "Western Martial Arts & History" forum is intact.

I did eliminate some of the forums where little interest was shown, but those forums still are in our archives and can be moved into one of the "community discussion" forums.

I received your email and tried to answer, but I think you may be a little confused over the new format.

Confusion

Post by JOHN THURSTON »

Well, I may well be confused and just do not know how to access the archives properly.

The present posts for the forum are indeed intact.

When I was ill and stopped contributing, the Forum, quite right, was deleted.

I can only recall the number 6557. This may have been the number of all posts, including all replies. In my case, if they are gone, they are gone.

My levels of dismay vary widely from day to day. Yesterday it was frustrating, today "there is little of importance i can't recreate."

Thank you for your concern.

I will try to access the old posts again before I sign off.

I do not know how to access posts from the old forum, so to speak.

I seem to recall no problem when this forum reopened.

Small wonder you get frustrated with maintaining the forums. I guess it's just part of "what we do"

Thank you Rising Star for the supportive post.
