Fair Photos of Rebuilt Practical Katana

This is only a fair picture of the Tsuka on the rebuilt Pratical Katana.

Remember the "Plastic" tsuka of the original PK by Hanwei had to be destroyed and a new tsuka hand carved to fit/

This Photo Better shows the Tsuka and replacement Tsuba.

This photo shows the re-lacquered Saya and the Copper Inlaid Chrysanthemum, of which there are 19, six on either side of the Saya, three on either side of the Fuchuki and One on the Pommel.

So, If some upgrades are in your mind (or if you wish an attempt to put furniture on a bare blade) Contact me or GEM. There are sites around that offer 'furniture', "but do not try to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear".

An additional note, most wartime Sai Guntos appear to have Brown Silk wraps, these, generally, are fabric wraps very well treated with wax.

The hanwei "Practical Katana" is reputed to have a decent blade, but they frankly state short cuts were taken to keep the sword affordable.
