FIGHTING SEMINAR

Here is a section of a fighting seminar I did at Sensei Tracy Rose's dojo a few months ago. Here we see what I term as a blocking infighting intro. Working both hands together for speed of delivery. Closing the distance and delivering the strike in one movement. Keeping the hands working together will enable you to block and strike in one movement. Speed is the key here. -----Happy Trails ----Art

To correct their mistakes right away will enable them to be better fighters. Take that correction and work with it. Hopefully, they will become better fighters as they move forward. ----Happy Trails ----Art https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jXQY1FiAoI

Blocking with the legs as an offensive weapon. Gets you moving into the strong attack coming off the hard leg jam. Attacking the attack. ---Happy Trails ---Art

Here's a couple of closing the distance methods I like. Once you close, you are ready to go to work inside. That is when your infighting practice pays off.

Re: FIGHTING SEMINAR-SMALL WINDOWS

When fighting, small openings occur. Many times you spot these windows, but are unable to pull the trigger in time. I do believe in making an opening and not waiting for one to appear. HOWEVER --- to fire that strike cobra fast you must be in the best firing position. If you've been reading any of my posts or looking at any of the videos, you've heard me talk about the steering wheel. Hands at 10 and 2 on that steering wheel. With a lot of striking practice from this hand position, you're going to be able to develop a hair trigger. A gun with a hair trigger is very dangerous, because anything could set it off. Your hands can do the same thing. It's going to take a lot of work but it can be done. You are able to fire your hands from this position in a blink when that window opens. That window happens when the gap closes into your zone as well. You know the distance you can cover with your hands. When the gap comes into that zone your hands are taking off. Many times, windows open wide when the attack comes at you. That's why I'm always preaching to "attack the attack". Fighting is taking advantage of your chance to hit a home run. Usually, the fighter with the least mistakes wins.

Keep a close eye on my hand position here. That's the steering wheel - 10 and 2 fighting hand position. Hands can really explode from here. Hair Trigger. This is what I refer to on the post above. --------Happy Trails -------Art
