Practice Partner
We had a fascinating discussion on practice partners. During my early classes when working out in the studio, I enjoy the hours drilling with partners. Practices on zoom, seeing people in two dimensions with the size all wrong isn't nearly as good as the real thing. Light touch or no contact rule, in my opinion, is important. Karate hits are designed to do serious damages when using full strength and control is important in a fight. Also light touch builds trust between partners knowing he won't be hurt. The ability to throw a hard punch that lightly touches the chest uses the same skillset as blocking a strike. Any thoughts?
