Laird's post was a violation of forum policy. It may be my forum, but I am here at the pleasure of GEM and must abide by his rules. I have a copy of the post, Rick, and could PM it to you. The PM format preserves all the formatting, the jpeg files, etc., etc.
Bill I don’t believe I violated any rules or policies. I have saved the post as well. Shall we repost it and you can use it to prove your claim? I did not do anything wrong!!!! You’re making the claim but the readers can’t see for themselves because you have removed the post.
I’d suggest you either post the evidence or remove the claim.
Is it’s against forum rules to point out moderators violating the rules. Gem has pointed out that he feels Van sometimes breaks these rules, and has acknowledged that you may at times do so as well, something about the shear volume of posts or something. For the moment lets not explore weather this is true or not.
Let us talk about the double standard. Laird gets banned for something GEM claims Van and Bill engage in.
If I got banned for suggesting that a moderator was breaking the rules…should George not ban himself for suggesting you and Van break the rules? Whoops another rubber standard.
Or is their some unwritten rule I’m unaware of. Are you moderator types above the rules? Is it okay for moderators to engage in certain activities but not forum members? Is there some sort of social hierarchy involved, where some members have more privilege than others? I feel like some sort of second class citizen these days.
I’m confused as to why I got banned, someone please explain it to me, and be prepared to prove your points.
It is my job as a forum moderator to enforce the rules. George has posted these rules, and they aren't a mystery to any of the parties here.
Glad to hear it Bill! Why don’t you do something about the SUV thread? I’ve had enough of Ian’s garbage and grow weary of you looking the other way.
Almost not worth replying to, but I can't resist.
Second, it's preposterous that all you meant was that you wanted prison to be a deterrent. People who want that say things like this: "I hope being deprived of his freedom and hopefully being asked to work off his debt to society in jail is hard enough that he thinks twice about such a crime in the future." They don't write graphically about rape.
Third, rejoicing that someone might get gang raped (and who knows, later die a miserable death later) is not "acknowledging" prison rape. That sounds like this: "prisoners have a real chance of getting raped in jail." That's even an indifferent statement, of course. Most people wouldn't make light of the problem or would denounce it.
Rejoice in our prison failings. Condemn them. Go back >100 years. Then, pretend you are above the fray after endorsing them. Oh well, whatever, nevermind.
I find this character assassination disturbing Bill. Ian claims to read my mind and know my intent better than I. He calls me a liar. He paints me with a wide brush claiming I advocate and promote prison rape. I don’t recall dancing in the street because people were getting raped and I don’t recall celebrating the failure of prison systems.
You appear to be looking the other way Bill.
I guess maybe the rules have more to do with who is getting insulted huh?
Well I have rules too Bill, and Ian just broke one of them. I’m not sure if the fancy smancy debating tactics the UVA are wise to use with us uneducated folks, we just don’t cotton to insult. Shucks some of us really stupid types even think we get to lay a lickin on folks when they cross the line.
Guess I’ll have to moderate the situation myself.
