Okinawan Secrets for Long Life - Ikigai

Post by emattson »

Ikigai is a Japanese word translated as “reason to live.” One important secret for their long life is that they have a reason to live. They have a sense of purpose; they know they are useful in their society and their world, not just a carbon footprint. A pooled data analysis in Psychosomatic Medicine: Journal of Biobehavioral Medicine and reported in Science Daily, has proven that. Science Daily is a serious science research news that are centered, it's not right or left wing bias. People with a higher sense of purpose in life has lower risk of death and cardiovascular disease.

I wish to hear from people who lived in Okinawa describe their culture, how they interact with each other.
