Uechi-ryu wikipedia corrections

Bill, I just submitted edits to the Uechi-ryu Wikipedia article to correct the kata names. I also deleted the Sichidan reference and changed it to Nanadan. I reloaded the article in my browser and the corrections were accepted. I hope there are no re-edits to the corrections that were recommended by...

Bill, That old school naginata instructor reminds me of the late Ahti Kaend and Carmine DiRamio: tough and demanding. It surprises me that the old battle axe has kept so many students. I would think she would have run the vast majority out of the dojo by now. You wrote: "Even my most difficult-...

"That was a stunning performance of Kushanku. But (absent knowing who is performing the kata), I'd have to see this person working with bunkai before I was confident that he understood what his body was doing. I'd go so far as to say that I liked his execution of individual techniques, but I th...

Bill, Thanks for your thoughts and comments. I have a couple of quick points to make: 1. Obviously, I still need to practice spelling (sorry for the typo in the excerpt that you quoted). 2. I agree that 'mindless" (not in relation to Mushin - "no mindedness") repetition is not appropr...

No responses. I guess that means that no one is aware of any Uechi practitioners in Mexico. Cool, I could go down there and start a monopoly. If any Uechi instructor dares to cross the border, I could charge royalties for opening a school. I could train a bunch of people up to Shodan, have them open...

My Uechi-ryu Experience

By Jeffrey Sandangsal I started Uechi Ryu karate in the fall of 2002. I studied that type of karate with America's Youth Organization over the past years. Today, I'm the only student participating from 2002. I never quit. I love Uechi Ryu karate. I have gone to many tournaments. I have won many time...
