I would say visit both schools and see which one you like better. I have done Uechi for comming up on my 14 year and I have done both Judo and BJJ. I think that checking out both schools will give you a better feel for what each has to offer. If it is more for self defense skills then check to make ...

Dude if you live in LA then you should have no problem finding a GREAT school soemwear!! LA has it all and many top guys in many different arts out there. I don't think there is a Uechi-Ryu Dojo, but if I was going to train stand up I would goto Richard Bustillio's IMB. I belive it is in Torrance or...

Example is a cross face techniuqes uses a hand postion in Uechi-Ryu kata but not in that angle or intyhat way. I find that the...

Kerry I've also found that PNF stretching is a great form of tuite conditioning. For example, you can do a supination PNF stretch, and make yourself resistant to the pain of a kote gaeshi. - Bill Bill what is the PNF Stretching? I am interested in seeing this because I have not yet seen or trained ...

You should practice doing this for a bit and you will see how different kata flow together. Also, ask your Instructor, if you are not ...

I have watched a few of Sapp's fights and he does not impress me. He DEFINATELY has a glass jaw!!!! Kimo almost KO'd a couple of times. Tyson is WAY to fast for Sapp and will be able to dodge his slow sweeping hooks and get inside and hurt him. I predict Tyson by round 2 and that would require Mike ...

I have dan rank in Uechi-Ryu and also do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the two go hand and hand together! I would hope that if you sat down and talked to your instructor about your intenstions to train both the he or she would be ok w/it.
