Thanks George

I have been busy traveling and between the National Geographic shows, product development for new equipment and training I have not been able to give the forums the time it needs, and will more than likely not be on for a while....I think that what George posted for me about the gear questions about...

An Expert?..............

Like what Rich was saying I think there is even more of a break down; THE MEANINGS ARE ENDLESS..... Example; Subject Matter Expert - Meaning a person has been qualifed (By ANY organization that have met THEIR standards or specifications), or as an expert in a court case - This means they have been r...

Testing

Hey Dave , The whole area of testing is really the modern overlap IMHO ------------------------------------------------------------- This is what we have found that seperates the professionals from the practioners or recreational players. Testing that is short, or not complete enough, or does not j...

Hi Dave , surprised theres been no takers , I left it for a while hoping others would have better insight . I think your approach is very strong . testing and evaluating should be an on going process . One should be prepared to throw out there assumptions and let things evolve and reveal themselves...

A question I get alot - How do you validate a technique?

A question I get a few times a week in my travels. And a question that raises many eyebrows and provokes thought and even in some cases frustration and anger. How do you validate your techniques: Well first lets talk about what this means; The definition of validation alone's means to certify, and o...

Your so right!

Quote: MikeK Even if they aren't rebutting or giving their views as long as they're reading means they're thinking about what's presented. If someone is firing off emails to GEM, it's a hassle for GEM, but at least that person is still engaged in his own way and working this stuff out on their own. ...

Van..........

Before I met you I read your forum and your posts, and now that that I have met you nothing is different. You are a professional who lives in the world of when then rather then if then. Here is someting to think about that I learned from a mentor of mine named "Coach Bob Lindsey". If then/...

Very Well thought out and Written MikeK

The word real at times can scare, intimidate and put off some people who feel that training out of the real world application has given them a skill level they can be comfortable with. I see this far too many time in my field. Especially when I go to a place where they have been training for many ye...

You can never be a hero in your own home town!

Yes that was me....I am guilty... I think the main reason for this is people in general have a hard time and I mean very hard time looking at things from other then a pracitcal application point of view when al things go right.......iinstead of a tactical application point of view to where many thin...

NOT ALL AIRSOFT is created equal

We've used Airsoft and they are great for a bit of feedback while the faux hand guns are rugged. But along with those two I now believe you really have to also test against the real thing. At least for me the difference between a 12 lb. pull and a 4.5 lb pull was big when it came to distance and th...

----quote.....So how does one come to understand their BS meter before someone is hit with the real world? To me it would be still be training but just moved closer to what you face in reality. But that's still not really an uncontrolled environment.[/quote] -----------------------------------------...

Good thread, Dave. And Stryke_doesn't his make you smile? :) When I discussed similar concepts on my page, years on end, I was accused of 'dissing' TMA and taglining .... Oh well  Van... I am hearing you on that. The ones who truly know me, know I do not throw rocks.....Hope you been good.

Close........competence can be improved through training, but never really confirmed until the moment you have to use it.....Thanks
