Source? This needs no source. This is one of those issues that any scientist worth his degree and training knows. I think you may be trying to say "why didn't they show a Y-axis that goes all the way to zero"? No I'm not. I'm merely asking that the author be reasonable. And what reasonabl...

I will also note that the solar sunspot activity graph has similar issues, if I'm understanding your point correctly. It also artificially cuts off the X-axis at 1860 and 1980. Sunspot activity measurements where carried out long before 1860 and continue to this day. We could speculate that the grap...

They are showing less than 10% of the Y axis for "Cosmic ray count." By doing so, they are making a small change (percentage wise) appear to be much bigger than it is. Old trick... ;) - Bill Source? Is there a graph with a longer X-axis that shows cosmic ray counts beyond the Y-bounds of ...

Why could this be? Well... Take a look at the Y-axis on this plot. http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42489000/gif/_42489204_cosmic_conn_203gr.gif Do you see how they magnified a very small portion of the axis on the "cause"? I'm going to sound stupid here, but I don't see it. Can you ...

ctx - sorry, but I could have sworn I typed a question mark... as in "debunked?". I don't see what Al Gore has to do with this particular paper though; was it authored/published by somebody working for him? I agree, however, that all theories (Global CO2 warming, Global cosmic warming, gra...

There is chum in the water and Roger is it. You should hear/se some of the commentary on the radio, TV, and message boards here. "Traitor!" "Bum!" "Over the hill!" "Anti-Christ!" I can't post some of the more severe labels here in case the kiddies are reading....

Ottawa vs. Buffalo - Part Deux

This series is going to be NASTY. Just take a look at this clip from one of their regular season games. 100 penalty minutes between them in this game. If you look closely Buffalo's goalie (Biron) uses a nice Dan Kumite takedown on the opposing goalie... from the ground! http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

He is such a high strung boy He is a BOY. Let boys be boys. . . . Make sure you get a copy of Raising Cain . And whatever you do, DO NOT let anyone diagnosis him as ADD/ADHD, and tell you he needs to take drugs. The best drug you can give a boy is more time to be a boy in-between his study and work...

It's hard to say without more information. Something tells me no. The threats were simply a matter of what he would do if the dogs were released. But we don't know any more about the situation. He also may have been in denial of the inevitability of his fate, and was simply trying to buy time with ...

More media fear mongering or legitimate concern for kids?

http://www.cnn.com/2006/HEALTH/11/13/heart.sports.reut/index.html It always makes me wonder when I read these articles. The first thought that popped into my head was "182 cases in 10 years with millions of athelete hours played doesn't sound like a lot". My second thought was "what ...

Thanks John! I'm surprised to see such a dedicated hockey fan in Florida  . One more factor in the upcoming Sabers/Ottawa series may be important. The Sabers is near the top of the NHL (top five easily) in penalty killing and power play scoring percentages. The Sabres also have an uncanny abil...

Re: Senators

The Sens are playing like they are the best team in hockey. They go on a surge and the Lightning goalie can't handle it. Last night there was a rapid swing from 2-1 in favor of the Lightning to 4-2 in favor of the Sens in a four minute time span. Well, it looks like the Sabers have finally wrapped ...
