Bait me baby....

Yeah what is the assumption? What was it the bait? Just waiting to drudge up crap again, but I guess you have to..... Yeah, you should ban this very real threat to the ego.. Wonder why GEM never does..... Same old BS about WC, right Jim? Things haven't changed a bit in years gone by...you got...

That's actually what I just said... Chaining is over not under.. Those moves are in our third form as are some other very unique movements to Uechi...

Re: Spin it up....

We don't know the context of that photo. If it was a "friendly exchange", well this might not have been an "entering" technique at all. We have a snapshot in time. And the camera doesn't lie. Oh the camera doesn't lie well then, that changes, um hmmm, nothing... But I agre...

Spin it up....

The beauty of it is that Uechi has the 'straight blast' similar to WC but with open chain palms out of seisan that are extremely effective for short stop and take downs. Bruce wasn't used to that. First off, Bruce would never enter with a high kick (like that) if it was even slightly serious... Tha...

For example, on page two, read what he writes about the assumption some people have about the ‘straight- blast technique’ where you apply chained punches to the face with aggressive forward movement. This would be a valid expression of what we do if one only used the knowledge gleaned on the first ...

But ‘master level’ after seven years of training is nothing short of ridiculous. These are labels.. I would never call myself a master even after having mastered... The fact is that this is the traditional way of referring to those who complete the course.. It's a title... I don't make this stuff u...

There's an old saying that transcends martial arts. There are three stages to learning: Watching Doing Teaching That alone is in line with what you say, Jim. If I've taken a gifted athlete and taught him the entire Uechi system in 3 years, is he "finished"? Well... no. And not for ANY sys...

I like that approach, whether it takes 3 years or 20, the idea of graduating the student is important as it puts the ball in their court to build on what they do either by going for a graduate degree in their style or taking what they know and adding to it from outside. All of us have graduated fro...

Since everyone is so interested in hearing about WCK .... Many MA schools have a never ending curriculum..and that's fine if that suits you.. I point out simply that in WCK the curriculum is designed to be completed in a relatively short time 3 to 7 years... When you get past the last lesson t...

Also, remember that everyone does not have to agree here... Never suggested otherwise... I don't think it means to seek and embrace death. I think it means to accept the reality, and through doing so it frees you of the constraints of self protection. Agreed to a point but some of this is semantics...

think you have a screw loose.. Ix that objective? Not something normally said in polite company, but I think we're past that. 8) 1. I simply state that we try make what and why we do what we do clear.. The implication is clear that other styles (like Uechi) don't (in your opinion). 2. That the syst...

Mike, this way of viewing martial movement REALLY bothers some people. It conflicts with a more concrete paradigm of kata practice and application. Some like to have a one-to-one correspondence between a move in a kata and a very specific application. For the record I never took this position... If...
