Uechi Dojo in Wimington, NC area?

Hi. Does anyone know of any Uechi-ryu or Shohei-ryu schools in the WIlmington, NC area? My wife and I are heading down there for a week and April and possibly relocating there in the not too distant future.

Thanks for any info that you might have.

Benzocaine, What you are doing is exactly what my wife and I are hoping to do some time in the next 8 months. The market is slowing down here so we are hoping for a good buy. I am a contractor so I can do much of the fixer upper type work myself when needed and hope to raise value via sweat equity t...

It's never too early to do something just because you want to. MY wife left an advertising career on the rise to become a middle school teacher and she loves it. The pay is not as good but she no longer goes out to eat or drinks all the time which goes with the ad industry and she LOVES HER JOB. I, ...

Doesn't sound that hard to me. I am not in the best shape of mt life but I am pretty sure I could do all of that including the 2 miler, maybe, but I did run track when I was younger. One of my older brothers was a Ranger and their level of training far exceeded that whis was posted. Such as being dr...

When I was training this bunkai for my shodan test it was with a 250 pound partner so there was very little chance of me moving him. As a result I was also taught that I could use the grab as a pivot to come behind my opponent and thus stack him between myself and the other attacker. While not a dam...

Let me elaborate on the body type comment in my earlier post. I am 6 feet tall and 210 pounds and so I am fairly sturdy and can take a pretty good shot, although I would prefer not to do so. Also, other, more acrobatic styles such as some types of kung fu or tai kwon do don't really suit my mindset ...

As a teenager there was a Uechi teacher in my town that a couple of friends of mine were learning from and that got me interested. The teacher was Ron LaBrie and the the student I am referrring to is Bob Spoon. At that time, I trained for about a year and a half and them I could no longer afford to ...

Thank you for your kind welcome Mr. Glasheen. I am not too familiar with the more psychologically/situanally based books but look forward to reading more of them as time goes on. For myself, reading helps me to intellectually understand concepts amd through understanding to begin to internalize them...

Hello everyone, this is my first post although I have been reading them for a while, and as I am sure that I am quite junior to most of you so I don't wish to presume but here are my offerings. Living The Martial Way, forget authors name Zen and the Art of Archery, Eugen Herrigel Tao te Ch' ing, Lao...
