this is much more common than people believe, and includes many people (such as conmen) who don't fit the stereotype of a lowlife deranged killer. And a number of Corporate CEOs, Teachers, Clergy, and other "pillars" of society. Never trust those in power. Always verify, always look out f...

Uechij, The big fad years ago at the gym was to take an anti inflammatory before working out and after working out. The theory I believe was the lack of inflammation would help the muscles recover quicker. Some of my runner friends have told me the same thing, I never bought it. My use of these subs...

What about Naproxin Sodium (Aleve)?

I find that it kicks butt for training soreness, Lower Back Pain and headaches.

My wife says it is WAY better than anything else for menstrual discomfort.

Interesting to consider this, since I observe a distinct commonality of anti-gay and anti-abortion...oops, I mean pro-life positions.

Understand, in no uncertain terms, the power of Ray Berry's Oi Zuki and Yoko Geri. He could move the big blocking sled (six-man? eight-man?) on the football practice field with either one. One summer (1983?), at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA (where Ray is a professor and I am now a graduate)...

POAC Planning Organization Actualization Control The Functions of Management. Somebody, somewhere, set the tone that became those pictures and the vilification of "the people on the ground". Understanding what is happening "where the rubber meets the road" (control) is a key to g...

Justin, On their website they give .1 nominal and .4 absolute particle retention. I'm not sure entirely how to interpret that. Does that mean the real number is .4? That would be sad. But even if .1 micron were the relevant number, would that be small enough? How would you recommend finding out if t...

Justin, Sounds like a great trip, I'm seriously jealous. One of my employees at Blue Ridge Mountain Sports recently returned from 5+ months in South America (Chile and Peru). His emails and Blog were awesome reading. Since I make my living helping people prepare for trips like yours, I'll chime in w...

Interesting discussion. Based on my reading over the years: It seems that, no matter the activity, a "cardio base" is always a suggested beginning to fitness, then basic strength training, and stretching is always included. But, basic cardio is VERY important for the foundation, it seems t...

I am not wealthy enough for private school and not patient enough for home schooling in the pure sense, but I think all parents are home schoolers. It is our job to teach ideals, principles, morals, manners, et al. We are the filters and the interpreters of the world for our children. We are the tut...

This thread hits home with me. I have a soon-to-be 15-year-old daughter starting high school this year; an almost 13-year-old daughter in the throes of middle school; as well as a 10-year-old son who is as much in the danger zone as my girls. Dad's lot in life is to worry about his children. It is a...

Bill, Regarding the "Dog Lab", I was merely regurgitating vague recollections of a recent local media brouhaha. As is typical, the "outsiders against" received far more press time then the actual administrators and participants. Regarding my practice, thank you for the endorsemen...
