Re: What to do about ISIS (a.k.a. ISIL, Islamic State)

I won't entertain the conspiracy theories above. So.... Here are my questions. And don't worry... I don't expect there to be a right answer. (I do however expect smartaleck answers from one usual suspect.) Let's try to be civil, and try to enlighten. 1) What caused all this? 2) Do you blame anyone o...

Re: Dear Lil' Kim: Come and get me!

I almost want to see this at the one theater in town that's playing it, just to feel like I'm tweaking the nose of a petty dictator. Alas, I didn't care for what I saw in the previews, and instead I'm saving my money for what looks to be a damned good movie (American Sniper), memorializing arguably ...

Re: A must-see sci fi movie

Bill, I watched Interstellar with my middle son, the most likely to grasp most of the science involved. It was a long movie, but a good one. My son and I both felt booted from the movie after the main character went into the black hole (what happened next stretched the bounds of believability for us...

Good analysis. I wish I'd taken the time to look at this more closely, but the media's love affair with this stuff just makes me not care. I really do hate the Internet Rage Machine.

Re: Another LEO controversy over "choke hold" incident.

A heck of a lot of people in the US are still stupid enough to try to take a cop's gun, to fire their own at a cop, or to bring a knife to a gunfight. 400 people a year on average, I think I saw somewhere. No sympathy. What kind of tactical blindness makes a man think they can take a cop? Or is it t...

Re: Once again, when two idiots meet, tragedy shows up also.

“I can’t believe people would bring a pistol, a gun, to a movie,” said the idiot who probably thinks a sign can physically stop someone from carrying one.

Re: Need Geek Squad advice

The base is free, and you can pay for multiple interface conferencing.
I was able to talk to all of my family members on Google+ Hangouts simultaneously, with them each using a different device, seeing all video feeds at once, for not-a-dime.

Re: Need Geek Squad advice

I keep Chrome and IE loaded. If I have a problem with one, the other works. I also, BTW, found during my deployment (I just returned home last month) that Google+ Hangouts worked far better than Skype to talk to my family. Better sound, better picture, better experience all around. Just putting that...

Re: NJ law may be activated by new gun technology

When I read about a cop killing themselves by accident, holstering their handgun in their car (the trigger snagged on a radio's antenna), I have my doubts. That said, I do like my Glock. Reliable as hell.

They're not even pretending anymore that this isn't about the rich being able to defend themselves against the poor.

Re: brought to us by the inventors of Agent Orange. . .

A small victory for sanity: Washington State voted down a proposed law which would have required that food be labelled for GMO ingredients. A rare moment of levity for an otherwise loony state.

Wow. I'm not sure if that's retrievable.

I am sure that if the economy tanks, our money isn't going to be worth spit, so there's no reason to sit on a pile of it. There are better fuel sources.
