Escapes from the side mount...

Hey Mal, Hope this post finds you doing well. Had to tell you that I tried the first technique last night and it worked everytime. By the end of the night I told my partner how to place her arm properly so I couldn't pull it on her again. Of course I found out how to counter that move when I tried i...

Women Grapplers

Hey bb, I have only been training in BJJ for 2 months. My class is awesome. There is a handful of highschool guys, a few college guys, a couple of guys in there mid 20's, and a few guys in there late 30's. Including myself there are 3 girls and another potentially starting next week. We all roll tog...

Fire

I keep coming back to this particular writing. At first I couldn't figure out why. Now that I have gotten through her pain I can see how strong she truly is. I see her strength and am drawn to it. The way she is drawn to the flame of the match.

Just sharing...

Women Grapplers

I almost don't want to post anything in fear that it may disrupt Van Sensei's beautiful writings. But I am curious if there are any female grapplers out there willing to raise their hand and be counted. I have been training for about 2 months now and really dig it. Anyone else? Good training, Peace ...

Oh wicked moon

Van Sensei, This one is very interesting to me because I was born on the very cusp of June/July and I am therefore a "moon child". Do you feel the moon affects people depending on what type of moon it is? I personally can feel when it is a new moon or full moon based on something internal....

Your haunted mind

Van Sensei,
This writing took me quite a few readings to interpret. But my feeling is that this isn't about sleep and awakening but crossing over to the eternal sleep. Am I close? Where am I off in the intepretation if that isn't it?

Escapes from the side mount...

Hello Mal & Joe, Thank you both for your replies. I will consider all of the options that have been mentioned tonight when I am "stuck" on the mat. I do have great instruction as well as video to review for escaping the side mount. But with me personally, I like to talk things through ...

Profound....

It struck a note with me so I thought I would post it.

Anne Sophie-Swetchine
(late 18th century Russian/French writer)

Good training, Peace Out...

does anyone like grappeling? besides me?

Oh, one more thing. My link was bad for the rear naked choke photo. Here is a good one. www.nagafighter.com Sorry about that. I had spelled it wrong initially and thought editing my post would take care of it but it didn't. They updated the sight. So click on the NAGA section. Then on the left hand ...

LAC-by paintbrush do you mean a key-lock? Do you know how to defend this move??? - Mal ********************************************* Yup, that's the one. As far as defending against this move, my defense right now is a good offense. Which is weak at best. Still very new to BJJ. So please do share. I...
