Occasionally, I heard about great body ergonomics are used in karate stance. For instance, I was often taught that in rotating your body in a sanchin, you must rotate your body as a single unit--feet, legs chest at the same time. That's useful technique when shoveling snow as just rotating your back can injure it under heavy load. Also, feet shouldn't be parallel when doing squats as they can cause unnecessary strains.
