To Mary's issue...

Without going into details, I know this is a tough struggle for Mary. Nicotine is wickedly addictive, and tests the mettle of the best of us. But kicking the habit is well worth the effort. Mary is not smoking now, but the toughest road is ahead of her.

We're with you, Mary. :)

Rotator cuff to quitting smoking

Post by chef »

Congrats on quitting! That is a tough road but a wise choice. I bet you see a big difference in your karate really soon, especially when the doing cardio
part of your MA.

A friend of mine, once a major womanizer, became very dedicated and involved in ministry in his church. He chose to become celibate in the process. He told me that it was easier giving up $ex than the darn cigarettes he had been smoking since 12 (he's now 42). Touch journey but I know you can do it.

Keep up the good work.
Vicki

P.S. Hope your shoulder is doing better.

Addictive behavior aside... I'm all for having a few vices in life, as long as you choose some healthy ones.

Folks have often wondered how I can be disciplined about my habits and by what I eat. Yes, I used to be on the "seefood" diet (when I see food, I eat it) and used to smoke. I'm now a nonsmoker and eat very healthy. For me, substitution was the key. One shouldn't have a denial attitude about going healthy. If you give up salt and fat, go for hot sauce. Giving up a couch potato lifestyle means substituting a life of fun activities. If you give up smoking, well... I'm sure there are creative alternatives to this oral fixation.

But everyone has their own ways to approach this. Whatever works.

Must have some vices!

Mark Twian believe everyone should have a couple of vices. . . so when you get sick you have something to give up. . .
