Kanei Uechi said that his father told him that women should not train because the exercises will draw the cervix closer together, making child birth harder. (Uechiryu Karate Do; George Mattson; Requirement for Brown Belt, Old Chinese conditioning methods, Women in Karate)

This is just old wives tales as exercises can actually make childbirth easier.
