Hey all,
I start a new job in Jacksonville on the 31st of March. I tried posting in the 'Find a teacher or dojo' forum, looking for some Uechi down there, but came up empty handed (no pun intended). Normally I would take the opportunity to start up a program there, but unfortunately my job requires extended travel.
Considering all that, I don't want to stop training. In fact, I would like to use my time down there to get some cross training in. I have been debating about it for a while and I am, as of yet, undecided on what style I would like to take up. I was hoping a post here might help narrow it down:
I know some of the forum frequenters here are not Uechi and I know many of you have cross-trained. So what I'm looking for is recommendations on instructors (any style, decades of experience) that you all might know of (or could ask about) in Jacksonville.
I'm going to do my own searching once I get down there by visiting a multitude of places, and I was looking at this as a start. Finally, if anybody can point me to what might be comparative to this forum for another style, I would appreciate it. Also, I would have posted this in the other forum, but not many people browse that one. This one says all topics welcome so I'm hoping to get more feedback here. Thanks.
Ross

"SpringFest"
I just signed a contract with the city of Mount Dora to host a martial art "SpringFest" on Saturday, May 17th!
Darin Yee and friends will be coming in from New England for a weekend of golf and karate. Hope you will be able to join us. Mount Dora isn't that far from Jacksonville.
Best,
George Mattson
