Not really karate-related but here's a web site you can check out if you would like to see the Tall Ships that are coming to Halifax.

The sea of humanity resulting from these ships is beyond belief....Halifax expects up to 750,000 extra bodies between now and Monday and I swear they all arrived this afternoon while I was at work. The downtown streets are teaming with life and the karate-senses are on high alert!! All I can say is "ACK"!!!! (Yes, Lori MD, that was for you) ~grin~

Thank goodness they left Boston. Image

Sailors and tourists were everywhere. $25 tshirts and $3.00 bottle water being sold. If I were smart, I should have taken a couple days off to fill my recycle bottles with tap water, have my kids draw a couple of boats on tshirts and opened up a stand. ;}

Tony ya gotta turn on the lights!!! :-) David, I know what you mean. I dread going to work today...and not just becuase it's work. I had family coming in from out of town and called them last night to tell them they should reconsider...the traffic snarls are bad, walking is a tight squeeze, and going out for lunch is no longer an option. I don't mean to dis the Tall Ships - they are something to behold - but the enjoyment factor is dropping steadily.

I spent the day yesterday walking along the waterfront of our beautiful city, enjoying the sight of these magnificent ships,and listening to some wonderful local entertainers. It was not overly crowded,the people were polite and the weather was fabulous.I am so glad I took the day off from work to see these amazing ships yesterday because I am sure that this will not be the case on the week-end! aaack!

Tony,

When were you here? Our summers can be sweltering. We have the air conditioner on here now.

Tony-San,
You have been living in the warm and sunny climate of Florida for far too long.
I also think that all that coffee has thinned your blood. Image

Hey Tony and Mary, I've roasted my first beans. I know you like a city roast Tony, how long are they in the popper? For the way I like the bean they spin in there for at least 45 minutes.

I'm going to take a bunch to work in the morning and roast the day away. Oh yeah, I also finally dusted off that old french press that sat on my counter for the past year or two. Man that is coffee.

Yeah, I kinda' figured that by now. The coffe wasn't bad, but I thought that was long. When I did it today at work, under the range hood, it took about 7-8 minutes.

The only thing I can think of is when I did it the first time I did it out on the front deck of our summer place. Maybe the early morning air kept the temp. down.

The batch I did today is great, black and oily, and the smell is amazing. It goes through the press in the morning.
