Bare knucle-sparring as a training method; not a great idea in my opinion. My reasons echo some of the posts already made by some excellent martial artists both for and against it.
Full contact (I assume it's full contact or this wouldn't be much of an issue) bare-knuckle training whether to the body or the face will limit the amount of training you can do.
Heck getting punched with 16 oz. gloves can hurt like hell. Injuries including cuts, bruises and broken noses and jaws will be the norm not the exception. Even training with the padded grapple gear gloves should be closely monitered in terms of full contact.
The best way to become a good fighter is to fight a lot. Training methods should be incorporated that provide realism but also insure that the fighter will be ready to continue training.

I agree about the difference between the gloves and bare knuckled.
We train without gloves and light contact.
My instructor will wear light gloves so that he can give us a good shot but he is still controlling his contact. Otherwise he would have no students.
He had me spar with him once wearing gloves and my distance judgment was way off. I hurt myself that night.
I prefer no gloves light contact and then move to heavy bag and go all out.
Just my $.02.
